Unlocking insights for an energy resilient Kenya

Welcome to the POWER-Kenya research page. Here, you'll find the foundational reports and articles stemming from our project.

Our work is dedicated to enhancing energy resilience in Kenya by pulling sub-seasonal operational weather and climate information through to effective energy decision-making.

How can weather and climate forecasting help renewable energy in East Africa?

NCAS published an article describing how the POWER-Kenya project uses sub-seasonal weather and climate forecasts to help predict variations in wind, solar, and hydropower generation in East Africa. These forecasts support better energy planning and grid management, improving the reliability of renewable electricity systems.
